Good afternoon ALL
If there’s one thing that makes you stop in your tracks 🛑 quickly, making you take the time to DEAL with it, is getting a SPOT OUT of a clean shirt /  or pants❗️You don’t want the embarrassment of someone thinking you can’t eat right (even though ALL of us fall short of social graces..we are hungry and shovel it in like a wolverine.. LOL!) It could be a spot/stain from some rub like a wet painted wall or grease you’ve bumped against...that would be me🏼. Okay. Like I stated .. we drop everything to get it off quickly to minimize its potential harm to our apparel and appearance.
Now concerning spots and stains of our soul❗️If we only had that SPEED and expectation of STAYING CLEAN and getting our spotted-soul and stains removed AND .. QUICK, we would be GIANTS for God and move mountains  with prayer.. simply because God likes a clean ‘slate’( being clean inside) to work with❗️ The truth is .. we get dirty feet walking through a dirty world..and stains of our soul can be left unattended.. not dealt with.. like static CLING🏼
This verse will help with his point>
Psalms 90:8
“Thou hast set our iniquities before thee,
our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.”

See this powerful verse 🏼>
James 1:27
“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

It’s so easy to get defiled, spotted and stained in our daily walk in this life. Stuff is flying all over the place and our soul seems to be a magnet. Maybe even picking up unsuspecting philosophies and stains to our MIND. Things that grieve the Spirit of God in us. We seem to be okay with it, too! Thinking that no one will see these stains... but wait .. GOD WILL! Any mechanic working under a car doesn’t wear light colored shirt & pants. They wear dark clothing so as to MASK the dirt and grease because it covers it up better than light colored clothing!
We do the same as Christians! We don’t want to be too fanatical or extreme. We wear our GRAY spiritual clothes.. and blend in so the sin-stains won’t be too noticeable ... see how WE are
King David said this >
Psalms 26:2-3
“Examine me, O Lord, and prove me;
try my reins and my heart.
For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes:
and I have walked in thy truth.”

‘Reins’ is defined as the seat of our emotions and desires!
King David was DEAD EARNEST .. with His God! He hung out his spotted/ STAINED dirty clothes for God to see. No coverups! Then he dealt QUICKLY with the spots and stains of his soul... for LARGER STAINS .. God sent a prophet named Nathan ( see 2 Samuel 12:1-13!!)🏼❗️
Now Let me leave you with this thought that got kickstarted to write this devotion today!
I recently had some shirts cleaned and pressed at the dry cleaners. A NOTE was placed on one shirt.
A stain was ‘carefully examined’
and ‘attention’ and an ‘attempt’ was made to remove a stain! If only we would give the SAME .. ATTENTION on stains we pick up ... we’d be a lot better OFF!!
One last verse... this should be ‘SPOT ON’❗️ for spot Out Help>
2 Peter 3:14
“Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”

Now be DILIGENT .. and do some inspections!

Filtering blood by your kidneys is an essential process to keep the blood flowing through your body and to keep you HEALTHY! When your kidneys fail, dialysis is needed. Dialysis is a procedure used to filter your blood externally and then  this filtered blood is returned back to the body🏥! 

You have to devote time and be patient, staying still until the procedure is finished.  

Now keep this in mind as this devotion progresses. 

There are all sorts of filters in this modern age we are living... 

and very careful engineering in manufacturing is followed to make sure computers, water, cigarettes (they’ll kill ya either way ☠️—- ‘lovers’ of unfiltered cigs speed it up by puffing on Camels, Pall Mall, Lucky Strike🙃 Do you feeling ‘LUCKY ‘ today’❓Make sure you’re saved!👍🏼)

air, gas, furnaces, coffee, the cabin filter in our vehicle, filters in our sun glasses. (oh those UV’s😎), pool filters, diesel fuel, digital filters filtering out obscene words and scenes in movies, exhaust fans, etc. etc!

Ok, how’d I do😉❓

Now let me ask you if you’ve ever heard of a human CONSCIENCE filter or purifier ❓The most important filter IN Your life  may be UN-filtered ❗️

 How could this crucial Soulish mechanism.. be UNCHECKED.. and/or UNFILTERED and left OPEN letting impurities pass through ❓

 I’m very convinced that in the times we live that the human conscience is a MESS. With so many anxieties (fears and worries, etc.) 😐and here are a couple verses for starters 👍🏼!

1 Timothy 4:1-2

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

 

Let’s define conscience>

‘an inner feeling or voice viewed as acting as a guide to the rightness or wrongness of one's behavior’.

  

Now a ‘seared’ conscience is ‘insensible’... no feeling! This would fit the description of ‘a cold blooded killer’. This ‘feeling’ or lack of ‘feeling’.. would be like David Berkowitz aka  “Son of Sam” serial killer in the 1970’s. People noted him as ‘enjoying the killings’. This would be a seared conscience of the  worst kind😒. 

A more recent killer with a seared conscience would be Curtis Ray Watson who was just a few days ago an escapee from a Tennessee State penitentiary who killed a woman in her home on prison grounds. 

He was ‘good’ for years and out doing work on the grounds when he brutally murdered her😒. 

He was not ‘reformed’ and this murderous man was dormant in him until the time to kill was ready☹️

This ‘seared’ conscience is MORE prevalent in our society the more we abort God from main stream America and settle for leaving ourselves to ourselves without God’s moral laws in the public square❗️

 

 Okay for you as a believer… here are some tips! 

 Watch your ‘thinker.’ FILTER IT❗️

 God gives us many tips and ‘scripts’ (scriptures😉) to help. 

Can I also remind you of this old saying. “An idle mind is the devils workshop” simply meaning this;  when you are idle  or being amused., ie. amusement (amuse= no thinking going on ) .. you open yourself up ( if you’re a believer or NOT) to lots of junk that bombards your conscience if not filtered❗️

 Here are some of my faves:

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

  [virtue is moral excellence]

 

Every one of these listed attributes can be thought of as filters. ie: the filter of lovely, filter of good, etc.  Use these filters as a rule to stop anything coming in that is NOT lovely, just, good, pure, honest, etc.  Moreover, the human body naked with your spouse is lovely and pleasurable😇... BUT NOT in a tabloid or online to be viewed to stir up LUST👿 .  Larry Flint ( Hustler Magazine) in his Supreme Court victory in 1988 no one could bring up the difference of pornography as “art”  versus pornography as evil❗️

NO IT ISN’T ‘ART’.. when ‘PORNO’ causes lust to contaminate our culture🙃. Things do get perverted  and twisted these days don’t they❓

 

James 4:8

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

 

These are filters... helping you to think RIGHT!!

Now...one more to help>

Psalms 119:11

Thy word have I hid in mine heart,

that I might not sin against thee.

 

Hide the WORD in your heart by memorizing it so that you may be ready to stop BAD junk that would impact and dirty your conscience❗️

 

When you let your guard DOWN, it is like giving your credit card information and other private information on an ‘unsecured’ website, and some HACKER STEALS your data and causes you a lot of trouble trying to clear it up. This may be because filters were not used on that website YOU KNOWINGLY CHOOSE to do a purchase on ❗️This can similarly go on in Your soul! 

A BIG honorary mention FILTER is your spirit. It is closely attached to your conscience. It is the SPIRIT of God in you! He helps you to filter AND  He filters things BIG TIME to protect your mind🙌🏼!

Romans 8:27

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

 

Now remember blood filtering and dialysis mentioned at the onset of this charge❓Keep reading !

Another BIG filter and purifier as a believer is the PURGING .. of your conscience by the blood of JESUS  which is appropriated by The SPIRIT OF GOD❗️

This is a key verse for you to consider when dealing with 

thoughts that invade your soul and want to halt Holy living and serving! 

Hebrews 9:14

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

 

This is a magnificent filter to keep in place to keep your conscience void of offenses and moving forward for Christ😀❗️

ALSO, that time folks spend sitting and waiting for dialysis to filter their blood? You can be sitting reading God’s Word ... daily, FILTERING  your mind and heart. NICE HUH😀❓

I’d say that will keep you running pretty CLEAN ...AND FILTERED in some DIRTY TIMES👍🏼

When life BEATS DOWN on you.. God’s loving kindness is ABOVE that even though we are DOWN here! 

See this key 🔑 point. Life can be bitter but God’s loving-kindness is BETTER😀❤️

Psalms 63:1-3

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee:

my soul thirsteth for thee,

my flesh longeth for thee

in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

To see thy power and thy glory,

so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,

my lips shall praise thee.

 

There is a lot packed in three these verses.  Just the FACT  that we get hammered like a piece of heated iron over an anvil, doesn’t mean God doesn’t care or wastes  painful hammering that may shape us. He does this to make us LAST and to LOVE us.  Tough stuff, I know,but with God’s love,this tough stuff can be  ‘wrought iron religion!’ Ornate and beautiful❗️

Ecclesiastes 3:11

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

 

 Sure, it hurts and disappointments are appointments not necessarily appointed by God, BUT can be USED  in a supernatural way to give Glory to Him and praise Him 🙌🏼❗️

So during our ‘wilderness’ journey ( the wilderness is the Christians life before we cross over into heaven)

we can see how ‘SWEET’ God is. We can experience His loving-kindness❤️before we experience heaven. How ‘SWEET’ it is🙌🏼😀❗️

1 Corinthians 2:9

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

 

Hey, it’s DRY ‘out there’🌵and you should be well watered ‘inside’💦.

 JESUS said this:

John 7:38

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

 

Let us and others see His Glory and power.. through it ALL🙌🏼
